Dinner Setting at Dar Tassa Luxury Eco Moroccan Guest House in the High Atlas Mountains

Dar Tassa is set in a stunning location residing in the shadow of Toubkal National Park which includes Takherkhort Wildlife Sanctuary; a protected haven for Toubkal's most noble species, the Barbary Sheep.

In neighbouring Marigha the Amaseen gazelle reserve, is a must see and promises this regal endangered species will have fighting chance to restore its declining population.

Be sure to bring your binoculars, as over 150 species of birds - from the Grey Partridge to the Alpine Accentor and Chough - make their nest among the Park's natural wonders. If you should decide to set out on a flora and fauna discovery trek, don't be startled to find reptiles that recall ancient fossils come to life.

Marrakech is just over a one hour drive from Tassa Ouirgane. Whether your plans are to stay in the mountains and visit the town or to take a break from the heat of high summer and come to the mountains a visit to the unchallenged capital of Southern Morocco is a must. With a growing circle of contacts and friends we are in an increasingly strong position to advise and direct you over accommodation and travel arrangements (including car hire / taxi service).

Dar Tassa was happy to sponsor the High Atlas Foundation in planting 33,000 fruit trees (cherry, apple, peach, quince, and plum). This project is a partnership among the High Atlas Foundation, the Global Diversity Foundation, the Association des Amis du CHU, the Province d’ Al Haouz, the Marrakech Department of Waters and Forests, the Department of Agriculture for the High Atlas, the Marrakech21 Foundation, Dar Tassa, Kasbah Tamadot, and Kasbah Toubkal. Participants identified the types of trees they wished to receive and this partnership funded the purchase and distribution of them, as well as provided technical training in fruit tree agriculture.
